How do you show your love?

That's an easy one...baking.  My mom shows love with cooking and cleaning.  I find baking more interesting than cleaning.   I like the way I can express my creativity with sugar, flour, eggs, and piping bags of frosting.  If I make a whole dessert table for you, watch out!  It's like being embraced with a thousand hugs and smacked with a thousand kisses.

2015 World Ski Championship Cookies

The countdown is on...actually, it has been on for years.  If you live in this area, you've seen more 2015 bumper stickers than political campaign stickers.  Vail/Beaver Creek ski resorts are hosting the 2015 World Ski Championships February 2-15, 2015.  We felt it needed a cookie.

Ringing in the New Year

New Year's Eve is always a great time to tidy things up a bit before heading into a fresh (powder) new year.  Whether it's cleaning out closets of belongings we no longer need or cleaning out the fridge and pantry of processed foods we no longer want to put in our bodies, there's just something about the new year that holds a ton of promise for a better life lived in 2015.  What will you organize for the New Year and who will you call to wish a Happy New Year?  We've got the device for you...Continue Reading...

New Year's Eve Cookies

I made these cookies the other day- before I tossed out the remaining bare sugar cookies from Christmas.  The Santa heads didn't get frosted and shared in time for Christmas, so I turned their jolly little heads around to create the ball dropping in NYC.

Building Holiday Memories with LEGOs

Are you ready?  The family is arriving and you can feel the excitement in the air with all of the kids running around Grandma's house.  The little balls of wound up energy usually scurry straight to the basement to get busy continuing the LEGO land they've left off at Thanksgiving.  Continue Reading...

Stone Gingerbread House

I almost didn't do a gingerbread house this year.  I baked two for kids to decorate later this week with cousins, but then I ended up with a sick one at home in a clean house.  The presents are wrapped under the tree.  All of my baking is finished.  I had nothing better to do than tackle this mold...yet another way.  We've been baking this 2 story chateau for several years.  Come along to see how it was decorated in stone...

Yoga + Art

This is pretty much my definition of the perfect evening:  an hour of yoga followed by a canvas painting party.  There's my mat all set up first thing this morning to teach Saturday morning yoga and share the art we created the night prior.  My mat seemed to be sparkling more than usual after this morning's practice with left over glitter.  Come take a look at the shiny layers of sparkle...
