Colorado Sugar Cookie set

Summer Hiking with Tips and Suggested Apps

Every Monday I grab my trail shoes, backpack loaded with water, sunscreen, bugwipes, extra layers for unexpected weather & snacks and head to work to teach yoga before heading out with a handful of other trail enthusiasts for a 3-4 hour hike somewhere in the high country.  Most Mondays it even works out that I pack my kids to tag along for my favorite workday of the week.

Camping Breakfast- Omelets in a Bag

Need a breakfast idea for your next camping trip?  These omelets in a bag are a fun way to cook individual omelets with an easy clean up to follow.  I took a group of 12 adults on an overnight hut trip a few weeks ago and this is the breakfast we prepared at 11,200ft.  No one else in the group had ever heard of cooking an omelet in a bag, so they loved the novelty of it as much as the omelets.

Fondant Ruffle Cake

This fondant ruffle cake is for a couple celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary with dear friends of mine.  I knew I wanted to try the ruffle technique on my next cake and an anniversary cake was the perfect specialty cake for this pretty frilly design.
