Green Tea Party - Kale Quinoa Crispy Avocado Salad and Matcha Cupcakes

 Ahhhh....Spring- the mixed weather, the allergies, the last few weeks of school, the weekend doubleheader baseball games. I woke up this morning to the sound of thunder and pulled the covers back over my head. So much for a trail run followed by a bike ride on the way to afternoon baseballs games. Perfect day for sleeping in and trying some new recipes, instead....

Tween & Teen AcneFree in 1-2-3!

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #acnefree123 #CollectiveBias
Let's talk tween and teen skin care. My daughter started breaking out in the 3rd grade and it has not cleared. I bought a pack of teen facials at the day spa down the street from my house. I've brought home a few products for her to use over the years and nothing has seemed to clear her complexion. It doesn't really matter what she is using if she isn't even using the product! Time to get a routine with proper skin care...and it didn't take long!

Tween Easter Basket {Sugar Free!}

Personalized basket provided by Personal Creations.
My daughter has a basket in her closet holding all of her leftover Halloween candy. Clearly. she does not have an interest in more candy this holiday season with all of that other holiday candy still hanging around.  This year, the Easter Bunny is going the healthy route in my household and I've put together a basket much better suited for her tastes. I have ordered Personal Creations baskets in the past and I love their personalized Easter Baskets. Our most memorable Easter was the year they saw their baskets with their names embroidered on the front! This darling soft-sided personalized polka-dot basket is perfect for my daughter!

Check out other Personal Creations products. Shipping is fast, so act fast to get it in time for the Easter Bunny to arrive at your home!  Best part? She'll reuse this basket for so many other things.  Contents of basket: coloring book, colored pencils, a cute Guess wallet, journal, Annie's Shells & Cheese (one of her favorites!).

How about you?  Do you go sugar free?

How to Make a Dreamcatcher

I have been drawn to dreamcatchers for many years and this is a project I have had in my head for at least a year or so. My great-grandmother used to sit and crochet doilies for hours. I would watch as the thread moved across her fingers and hooks. She wouldn't even have to look down at what she was doing. It amazed me because I don't have great finger dexterity. Forget about french braiding- I can't figure out what loops where. I've tried to crochet or knit...maybe one day. I knew I wanted to incorporate one of her doilies into a handmade dream-catcher to hang in my bedroom.

Cutting Edge Indian Arrows Wall Stencil

I didn't realize how bare my master bathroom had been until I finally figured out what I wanted to do with the walls.  I knew I wanted to paint, but didn't want to commit to a color.  The bathtub, sinks and tile surrounding the bathtub & shower are bright white, but the walls/trim are a creamy white. As soon as I saw the Indian Arrows all-over wall stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils, I purchased the stencil from my phone.

It's cookie exchange time!  I have been seeing so many social media requests for cookie exchange recipes.  "Give me your best cookie recipe".  I commented that it would be like choosing a favorite child!  I remember one year we were traveling to a holiday party and the whole plate of cookies slid right off the platter and onto the backseat of the car.  If you are hosting a cookie exchange, pick up a few Rubbermaid TakeAlongs containers to send your guests home with their cookies nice and secure- featuring Quick Click Seal technology.  Come see the cookie exchange details...

Away for the Holidays - Gifting

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #eHolidays #CollectiveBias
The holidays are never quite the same when the kids are away with the other parent.  It hasn't happened very many of these 10 years apart, but for us, away means states away and sometimes half a world away.  I had already decided I wasn't going to get the big tree out this year and decorating might be minimal.  My gift to the kids was going to be a trip to NYC for New Years.  Times Square this New Years seems like too much of a target, so we postponed the trip and I decided I'd better Christmas shop and decorate the house.
They'll be home for a few days this week and then off again until the 28th.  We'll open a few gifts in a few days, but I still want them to feel like they got something from "Santa".  Now that they are approaching their teens, they are in that weird stage of too big for most toys and clothes as gifts are a let down.  What do you get for the tech savvy kid who plays a bunch of sports, knows the truth behind Santa and is going to be away for the holidays?  I found something that can be delivered to them by Santa on Christmas even though they'll be 1500 miles away....
