Individual Snowman Mini-Cakes

The thing I like most about mini-cakes is that you can serve your guests their own cake vs. slicing up an entire cake.  These little 3D snowman seem to impress more than your average single serving cupcake.
I bought this Wilton Snowman pan last year on after-Christmas clearance and have since looked for other varieties on after-holiday clearnaces.  Fill each snowman 2/3 with cake batter & bake 350F for approx 16 minutes:
Remove from pan and cool.  I used a star tip to pipe buttercream frosting covering the entire snowman.
The Harvest Candy Corns bag (a mix with candy pumpkins and candy corn) provide an orange tipped candy corn.  Look for the bags after Halloween or Thanksgiving.  These candy corn work perfect for snowman carrot noses.
Place the candy corn noses and candies for the snowman's buttons.
The hats and scarves were piped with colored frosting in a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped.
Large sugar pearls and snowflakes were placed for the scarf and hat designs.
Get your tweezers out to place the candies!
Notice how the snowflakes are broken off when the pattern would naturally disappear- at the edges and where the scarf is tied.  Same with the candy polka-dots.
The snowman mini-cakes were one of the main attractions of our Winter Wonderland dessert table.
They are a little more time consuming than a cupcake, but so worth the added effort.
