Spooky Halloween Mantel

Last year was the first time I decorated the mantel for Halloween.  I cut the haunted house silhouette out of a tri-fold foam core presentation board, made the candy corn garland by painting paper plates, and used other items I already had on hand with a few pumpkins.  This year, I wanted to spook it up a bit.
I added the larger gargoyle tombstone ($12 Target), turned my PierOne "Inspire" and "Dream" rocks around and added a few more of the crystal tipped branches as trees.
In the center, I added remote controlled flameless candles and glittery spiders.
To the right, I added a spider to the top of a faux pumpkin ($6 orange, $9 lg cream, $2 small cream).  Figured, why buy new real pumpkins each year?  Black crows were 3/$4.
The $3 black cloth and skeleton spooked it up a little more...
The remote flameless candles from Costco (7/$25 with batteries) are one of my favorite finds from last year.  I feel so much better about pointing a remote to turn them on and off the mantel.  They take the danger out of candles burning in the home.
This is how it glows with the lights out...

How did it get to be October 1st already??
