Sealing Cookies

Most of my cookies are decorated with soft creamy frosting. If I'm not serving the cookies immediately, I place the frosted cookie in the freezer to set the frosting enough to be able to stack the cookies between layers of wax paper to freeze and serve later. Recently, I've decorated cookies with candy melts and royal icing and they set up, stack and package really well. I pulled out these little cellophane Santa bags last night to package cookies for the kids' teachers and then thought of a post I had read a few days ago by one of my favorite cookie bloggers, Sugarbelle.
You really can use a flat iron to seal the bags:
I lowered the temperature to 270F and lightly tapped the flat iron to the cellophane and released right away.
Perfect seal.
