Kitchen Aid is christened

I always make sugar cookies with my kids- they have no idea I was the "go-to-girl" for chocolate chip cookies when I was growing up. My brothers used to beg me to bake them chocolate chip cookies and my friends begged for my recipe.
I found a recipe this week for an almond chocolate chip cookie that called for almond paste. I googled almond paste- not an ingredient stocked in my pantry, but I had the ingredients to make my own: blanch almonds then grind, add egg white, powdered sugar & almond flavoring.
These measuring spoons sure make me smile when I bake!
The dough might have been a little stiff with my guess of extra flour for the high altitude,
but not bad.
